Berkshire School of Etiquette to Begin New Six-Week Children's Series April 7

LENOX, Mass. — The Berkshire School of Etiquette will host a six-week Children’s Dining Etiquette & Social Skills Program for boys and girls in grades one through five beginning April 7 and running through May 19.

Class will run consecutive Tuesdays — April 7, 14, 28, May 5, 12 and 19 — from 4 to 5 p.m. There will be no classes during the April school break.  

The six-week course will focus on teaching children social skills, communication and listening techniques and dining etiquette. Lessons are hands-on and engaging with instruction in how to make proper introductions, the power of eye contact and a smile, listening techniques, remembering names, conversation for table talk, manners, dining American vs. Continental, holding utensils and passing properly, telephone etiquette, expressing appreciation and self-presentation. A five-course fine dining experience is included at Berkshire County venue. Past establishments include The Red Lion Inn and The Wheatleigh.

The Berkshire School of Etiquette was founded in 2014 by Diane Massey, a certified Corporate, Business and Children’s Etiquette educator. In small class settings, the school offers workshops and lessons for children, preschool through post secondary, focusing on modern etiquette awareness, social skills, and dining etiquette.  Custom adult workshops along with needs-based seminars for the corporate and business setting offer training modules in self-presentation, effective networking, dining etiquette for business, professional attire for men and women and creating an impactful correspondence wardrobe.
